It is difficult to overestimate the role of aviation in the formation of the Third Reich. After the end of the First World War Germany was not able to have proper military air forces. It was very carefully controlled by the Allied powers. Therefore, prior to the creation of the Luftwaffe in 1935, the formation of military air forces was carried out illegally, but under the protection of certain individuals from the German government. When the Nazis came to power the issue of creating full-fledged military air forces became more urgent than ever.
