Mixed type after 1935.

After a short period of running, it was decided to alter the length of current pieces as well as to bring newly manufactured ones to approved standards. Also, the parts that demanded manual workmanship were replaced with machine-processed ones. Particular design changes were made to meet mass production demands. Shortened patterns occur both the first and second types. But they do not refer to daggers of the transitional period. Shortened models of daggers were discussed in relevant sections.  A year later in 1935 production of the DLV dagger was discontinued and it was replaced by a standard first model Luftwaffe dagger of 1935. Some manufacturers continued using their overstock left from the earlier production stage. Such daggers with combined parts feature a short blade and are known among collectors as a transitional type. In addition to length shortening, the grip was decorated with wire. In our opinion, the so-called transitional type daggers were produced by companies during the running of a standard model of the Luftwaffe M1935. Most likely, the companies that manufactured accessories sold their overstock to companies, that were contracted to manufacture a new model of daggers. So even the company C. Eickhorn, which did not use for DLV55 daggers staples to retain scabbard mounts, started to manufacture Luftwaffe M35 daggers featuring such construction. In addition to already well-known manufacturers, you can find Luftwaffe daggers with elements from DLV dagger (staples on mounts, a four-spiral lower fitting) of the following companies – E. Pack, A. Wingen, D. Malch..... as well as some minor distributors.
